Japanese Researchers Have Proposed A New Method Of Predicting Diabetes

A Japanese research team recently published papers that the increase in blood sugar test done outside of glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) test, comprehensive test results than the two separate one of the tests more accurately predict diabetes.
From the University of Tsukuba, Japan and other institutes, researchers in the new issue of British "Lancet" magazine published online papers that they were carried out on the 6241 five-year follow-up study. Study included 4670 men and 1571 women, their ages ranging from 24 to 82 years. Start of the study all subjects received no previous history of diabetes.
The results showed that high fasting glucose (defined as 100 milliliters of blood glucose levels 100 mg -125 mg) of 9% of the population in five years suffering from diabetes, high glycated hemoglobin value (international standard values of 5.7% - 6.4%) 7% of the population of people suffering from diabetes within five years, while the two test values are high proportion of people suffering from diabetes, 38%.
Research team leader, University of Tsukuba professor Sone Boren said, and those fasting plasma glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin values are lower than people who two values are high risk of diabetes is 32 times the former. Sone Boren believe that the combination of these two test results to screen for diabetes, will help to discover the need for early intervention of high risk diabetes.
